Extrusion Operator Jobs

Are you ready to build a future in a national flexibles plastic factory? At Popes, we’re hiring Extrusion Operators who want more than just a job — we offer career growth, security, and hands-on experience using modern equipment.

We’ve been operating since 1954, growing from textile bag recycling into a major national supplier of paper and plastic sack solutions. With investment in new facilities, we now have roles across day (6am–2.06pm), afternoon (2pm–10.06pm), and night (10pm–6.06am) shifts. Night shift includes up to 12 months of paid training on day shift.

You’ll report to the Production Manager and operate Tubing and Bottoming machines in a structured, safety-first environment.

Extrusion Operator Duties

• Set up and run machines

• Program robots

• Use forklift and grab

• Prepare glue belts and paste

• Diagnose faults

• Follow SOPs and meet KPIs

About You

To succeed as an Extrusion Operator at Popes, you’ll bring not only experience but also a mindset for growth. While you don’t need to be trade qualified, having a solid background in a production setting will give you a strong advantage.

You will also need:

• Mechanical aptitude and production experience

• High Risk Forklift (LF) licence

• Strong communication and teamwork

• Reliable, safety-focused, and hands-on

• Trade qualification (advantageous but not essential)
