Are you ready to build a future in a national paper sacks factory? At Popes, we’re hiring Machine Operators for our Wingfield site — join a workplace that offers long-term growth, job security, and hands-on experience with advanced automation and equipment.
As an Australian-owned business since 1954, we’ve grown into a national supplier of paper and plastic sack solutions. With significant investment in new machinery at our Adelaide paper sacks factory, we now have full-time roles available on permanent night shift (10pm–6.06am), including a 30% shift loading. You’ll also receive up to 12 months of paid training on day shift before transitioning.
You’ll report to the Production Manager and be responsible for operating state-of-the-art machinery in a structured, safety-first environment.
Machine Operator Duties

Set up and run machines
-
Program robots
-
Use forklift and grab
-
Prepare glue belts and cross paste

Diagnose faults and conduct preventative maintenance

Follow SOPs and meet KPIs
About You
To succeed as a Machine Operator at our Wingfield paper sacks factory, you’ll bring experience and a hands-on approach. A trade qualification is desirable, but not essential.
You will also need:

Proven machine setting experience
- Mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools

High Risk Forklift (LF) licence (preferred)

Strong communication and teamwork

Reliable, safety-focused, and hands-on

Trade qualification (advantageous but not essential)
